HOW TO ORDER MY SERVICES
1. Submit a Non-Binding Price Request
Use the online calculator to select the processing services you require and submit your non-binding price request. This ensures that all dimensions, quantities, and processing requirements are recorded completely and accurately.
2. Receive Your Order Form
After reviewing your request, you will receive a pre-filled order form as a PDF by email.
3. Sign the Form & Send Your Material
The signed order form can be submitted either:
- in its original form together with the material by post, or
- as a signed PDF by email to Mineralien Manufaktur.
Photos or image files of signatures are not accepted.
The shipping address for your material is provided exclusively in the pre-filled order form.
Important: Please be sure to include a prepaid return shipping label with your package. If the order is not accepted after the inspection or you decide not to proceed, the material will only be returned using this prepaid return label. Without a prepaid return shipping label, your shipment unfortunately cannot be accepted.
4. Inspection & Price Assessment
Once your material arrives, it will be inspected. You will then receive a material receipt & inspection form informing you whether the order has been accepted or whether further clarification is required.
5. Signature & Deposit
Please pay the 50% deposit of the estimated price after receiving the inspection form, and submit the signed order form if you have not already done so.
Important: If the deposit is not received within 14 days of the material receipt & inspection form being sent, the order will not be processed and the material will be returned using your prepaid return shipping label. The 14-day period applies to the 50% deposit of the estimated price without the 20% cap.
6. Processing Begins
Processing will only begin once both the signed order form and the deposit have been received.
7. Final Payment & Return Shipping
Upon completion, you will receive the final invoice. Once payment is confirmed, your material will be securely returned to you.
Transparent Pricing for Your Stone Processing
So you can understand exactly how the costs for finishing your rough stones and personal finds are calculated, I work with full transparency. Every stone processing service – whether sawing, lapping, grinding, or polishing – requires craftsmanship, individual preparation, and the precise use of professional machines and abrasives.
Why Are There Setup and Operating Costs?
Before I begin the actual processing, each workpiece requires time, care, and high-quality materials:
- Setup & preparation times: Every stone is unique. Before sawing, lapping, or grinding, I measure, align, and clamp each workpiece individually and securely on my machines.
- Multi-stage lapping and grinding process: To eliminate saw marks step by step without a trace, I lap the stone in a precisely coordinated process, working progressively with high-quality silicon carbide from coarse grits (F80 to F220) through to fine grinding (F360 to F400).
- Exclusive polish for hard stone: The final stage is my polishing process, precisely tailored to the extreme demands of hard stones (such as agate, jasper, or quartz). The result is a mirror-smooth deep gloss and colour brilliance that clearly surpasses standard polishing results.
How My Online Calculator Works
My calculator guides you step by step to an indicative price for your workpieces:
- Select service & mineral: Specify which processing you require and the type of stone (soft stone vs. hard stone such as agate or jasper).
- Cut rough stone into slices: Would you like a rough stone cut into slices? Simply enter the dimensions. The calculator automatically accounts for the first facing cut (4 mm) and the material removal by the saw blade, and calculates the maximum number of slices.
- Grinding & polishing – freely selectable: If you have slices cut, you can flexibly choose the finish:
- Cut only: You receive the raw saw slices.
- Including grinding & polishing: With one click, you can add lapping, grinding, and polishing for the cut slices – from a fine matte finish to a brilliant high gloss.
How Are the Costs Calculated?
- Setup fee (€4.00, one-time): Charged once per workpiece position for grinding/polishing – regardless of whether 1 or 10 slices are processed.
- Cleaning fee (€3.00 per slice): After each individual lapping step (e.g., when switching from F220 to F360), each slice is meticulously cleaned by hand to prevent coarse abrasive particles from being carried over into the finer polishing stages and causing scratches.
- Surface price: The actual processing cost is fairly calculated based on the real surface area (in cm²) of your slices.
